Rodger was born in Alaska, where at a young age he realized that his  future would include wildlife and water. While attending college in Arizona he worked on Lake Powell.  Many of his summers were spent fighting forest fires and exploring the outdoors. Rodgerís love for the  outdoors is evident in all of his activities as a fly fishing guide, photographer and wood carver. Rodger  worked as a river guide and boatman on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon in Arizona,  where he met his wife Audrey.
